Solar Power in Alberta
According to the Pembina Institute “the Solar Photovoltaics market is the fastest growing energy sector in the world, and the solar resource in Alberta is sufficient to meet total demand for electricity. Japan installed more than 400 MW of PV power in 2007 alone, more than the size of Alberta’s average coal plant.”
Studies by Natural Resources Canada show that Alberta has some of the best solar resources in the country.
